remoteApplication tag in login call

What does the remoteApplication tag do in the login call?  It's in the WSDL but it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the documentation.

Hi Juice,

The remote application tag is optional.  It is used for internal usage reporting statistics.  We like to see which API applications are the most active, when they are active etc.
