How to add LeadSource values

I want to add value in Leadsource picklist programmatically. I m new to sales force. Plz help

as far as i understand and have experienced its not possible to populate custom picklitsts, where as the standard picklists like lead status, opportunity stage can be populated programmatically.  To further discuss or share your experience you can contact me at
