Creating a custom report tab with selected reports

I have some customer reports already created, and I want to create a Reports tab for my application which only lists the reports I wish to package into the application.

Can anyone point me to any documentation that will help me?

So you have a list of reports in your app, of which you only want some available?
 
[1] You could some of the folders hidden from all the users maybe?
 
[2] You could remove the reports tab, and create a new tab with weblinks to the reports you want to make available.
 
[3] You could always just delete the reports you don't people to use?
(I'm guessing there's a reason why you're not doing this)
 
Are you wanting to re-use reports between different apps?
- Have you looked at using the appexchange to create a package of reports from your app that you can then move from app to app?
