Task/Event Fields into email templates?

I'm trying to create an email template using fields from tasks and events.  I don't see tasks or events or activities as an option for the merge fields.  Anyone know any workarounds?

Hello,

I was told by customer service at salesforce that you can use java to pull the event fields into custom fields in the account or contact.  I'm actually starting a java/html class this weekend.  They didn't know the exact instructions, but they said it would be easy for someone who knew java.

Thanks for your reply.  With customer service's proposed workaround, it sounds like we need to write codes to automatically update corresponding Contacts/Accounts each time we modify an Event...
