Lookup Problem

Hi,
 
I have some problem with lookup field:
when I'm in the lookup window I can't see all the records for the selected object, I can only see the records of the object that was recently viewed (It happens even when I'm with administrator rights) . Why is that?

It looks to me like they show recently created or viewed records and you have to search for what you really want. If there is a way to control what records display (pre-specified search) that would be great. Im too new to know though...

even when I press the "GO" button the "other" records don't appear...

The View search parameters must be coming up blank. Have you tried searchg for only creation date range from say 1/1/1998 through 12/12/2007? If that doesnt find the records, there are no records in that object to find.

I'm trying to find out the same. If its possible to have all the records displayed rather than just the recently viewed records. The user that will be using these lookup fields will not have knowledge of the existing records therefore would not know what to search. Is there any solution?

It seems all the threads regarding this topic are being ignored...
