Is there a limit to accounts/contacts in Developer Edition?

Is it possible to upgrade a Developer Edition org to Professional or Enterprise?

Your limit is 2 users and 2MB.  I believe you can have your org upgraded from Development to Enterprise.  Developer and Enterprise edition are close, if not equal, in functionality.  If you went to Professional, I am not sure how the upgrade would work because you would lose things like your additional page layouts, field level security, custom profiles, oppty and case sharing rules, API access, etc.

NO you will not be able to up grade the developer edition. All though they are very similar you would be created a new org. However you would be able to get a one time data export and then use the API to upload all of your data into the new org. However you would lose your customizations and page layouts.
