How to hide a standard field

Hey guys,

I know we can hide certain standard fields from page layouts. However, how can you do this for standard fields that are bold. I am trying to hide the "Time" field from the event layout but it says that this can not be removed. Any ideas?

Time is a required field, meaning without a time, an event wont have a meaning, thats why it cant be removed. Im sure you can set it as "not required" somehow and the hide it

I was trying to do  the same, but  whit the field *Opportunity Name; because we use a workflow to create a automatic name for that field and we still have to put a character in the field so when someone save the opportunity dont get the error: You must enter a value. Does someone knows how to hide this kind of field from the page layout?
