Can you restrict deletes on Opportunity Products?

1.  Is there a way to take away the ability for certain users to delete existing opportunity line items, while leaving create,update abilities?
 
2. Is there a way to take away the ability only for certain Opportunity or Opportunity Product record types?
 
 
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

For #1:
  1. Go to Setup > Customize > Opportunities > Opportunity Products > Page Layouts.
  2. Click the 'Edit' button.
  3. Under "Button Section", click "Detail Page Buttons" (it should be highlighted now).
  4. Click the "Edit Properties" button.
  5. In the pop-up window, remove the checkmark beside "Delete" and save.  Save the Opportunity Product Layout, too.
#2 might be a bit trickier...

Is this still possble in 2010?

 

I can't seem to click on the Edit Button, to remove "delete" function? The new interface doesn't have a Detail Page section. Where has this been moved to?

 

 I just want to remove the ability to "delete" Opportunity Products (from the line view). I've already removed the "Delete" button in the page layout.
