Problem with the web tabs and the g-mail
Hellooo,
I am facing a problem and i would like to ask for some help.
I have created a web tab and implement the g-mail account in it in order to work with the g-mail and the salesforce in one window.
The problem is that when i am trying to log in and check my mails, the browser redirect me outside of the salesforce environment and throw me into the g-mail environment without giving me the ability to go back to salesforce again.
Is any way to handle my g-mail without leaving the salesforce environment??
Thankssss.
Stratos.

Finally i created a visualforce page (or you can create an s-control) and i redirect the users to the gmail account of them which opens in a new window, without losing the previous open window, so they can remain into the salesforce environment.
I don't know if this works for you.
Any solution to this? I'm using Google Apps GMail, like many of you, so the URL is currently:
https://mail.google.com/a/<organisation domain name>
The URL for Google Calendar on a separate web tab works perfectly well and retain's SF's tabs for the user etc:
https://www.google.com/calendar/a/<organisation domain name>
and of course Google Docs gets its own tab set up through the Google Apps setup menu.
Has anyone raised this issue with Salesforce, and, if necessary, with Google? It's a frustrating experience for the user.
I finally gave up. I was in discussions with SFDC support people and they were trying to get me to redo the settings of IE. However since I would have to do this on every IE browser I use to access SFDC I decided it wasn't worth it. There were a long list of setting changes. I told SFDC support that it should come out of the box.
i also don't use the gmail like that anymore, i enable it and implement and the application Gmail to salesforce and now they just press the mail address of the contact, lead etc. and they are redirected (without loosing the window of salesforce) inside the gmail at once so it is convenient for them.
