Integrating Salesforce and MS Axapta 3.0
Hello,
we need to synchronize data between our MS Axapta based ERP and our newly created CRM on Salesforce.com.
I could'n find any existing (AppExchange) apps that could work as an interface nor any Information on how to synchronize them via custom web services (On Google I could't even find information on any Axapta API)
Do have any experience or idea on how we could tackle this problem?
Thanks in advance. Best regards,
Robert

In our company we have the same problems. We also use Salesforce as our CRM system en we also use Axapta 3.0 as our ERP system. What we need is a way to automaticly sync data from Axapta towards Salesforce. Now we have to upload several data bij CSV and excel. Is there a way to make fields in Salesforce and then let them automaticly filled bij Axapta. For example invoice amounts, orders, tasks etcetera.
We even want to sync the Salesforce agenda (used by the sales) with the Novell Groupwise (mail) agenda.(used by the office employees) Maybe there is software available? Our accountmanagers use Salesforce on the road and we want te give them up to date information.
Some fields in Salesforce has to update everyday. This is the main reason.
I hope you can help me,
Best regards,
Michel Vastenhoud
What is the database behind your MS Axapta ERP? MS SQL? If yes, perhaps, you could take a look at Apatar Open Source, a data integration tool that links databases, files and applications. It enables SalesForce.com connectivity to MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS Access, Sybase, FTP, HTTP (POST and GET), SugarCRM, Goldmine CRM, XML (local and web-based), Webdav, Buzzsaw, LDAP, Amazon S3, flat files (.CSV, .TXT), and even Flickr.
With visual job designer, you can create integration jobs called DataMaps, to link data between the source(s) and the target(s), and schedule one-time or recurring data transformations. The link below is a pre-created DataMap called "Migrating Data from MS SQL to SalesForce.com":
http://www.apatarforge.org/files/business-management/mssql-to-salesforce.com.html
Please follow these easy step-by-step instructions to use the DataMap:
1. Download Apatar,
2. install and run the application,
3. open the DataMap (see the link above),
4. configure it and provide the paths to the servers,
5. run the transformations.
6. (optional) If necessary, set up the frequency of data integration using Apatar Job Scheduler (if you need an on-going integration).
Using Apatar's Scheduling function, you can schedule one-time or recurring data transformations. That would allow you to automate data export and import for daily backups. You can schedule Apatar to run at a specific time every day.

Hope, this tool would help you. Should you have questions, I can be reached through my blog 'Naked Open Source', found at http://www.nakedopensource.com/.
