Is there any tool in salesforce.com that can extract the object model schema for our application?

Hi,

Is there any tool in salesforce.com that can extract the object model schema in excel or word format? The apex explorer that we tried cannot download the schema in excel or word doc.

Any suggestions on this is very much appreciated.

Thanks and regards,
Ambili

I dont know of any tool that can export schema into excel/word.
But you can use this explorer [1] to view schema as HTML.

Developers Sidekick (find it on appexchange) will generate a schema report in word.
SoqlXplorer (http://www.pocketsoap.com/osx/soqlx/) will generate a schema report to a PDF file.

I don't know if there are tools to export in word or excel format but in HTML format, I recommend ERBuilder for salesforce (https://soft-builder.com/erbuilder-for-salesforce/), you can generate a schema report in a few clicks. The report includes the ER diagram image and the description of all objects, triggers, validation rules...etc.

Update to my previous answer: ERBuilder for Salesforce tool has been renamed to AbstraLinx (https://soft-builder.com/abstralinx/).
