Web to Lead

Hi,

 

I tried using the web to lead feature, I am trying to create something similar on an custom object. Is it possible to do it? Could you direct me to the correct process to do the same.

 

I also saw that the web to lead option leaves it open to be attacked by spams and spammer, is there any way to avoid it.

Hi,

 

1) Not directly from the Salesforce Interface. There is something called "WebToAnything" which I seem to recall is an Open Source project. It probably requires a server with PHP or similar... Search for it. An alternative is to have the Lead convert into something else by the likes of a trigger.

 

2) You can easily control this at the Web Page end. Setting required fields, some with a specific format (like a valid email address) or even by using a CAPTCHA (those unreadable images to prevent robots from filling out forms.
