custom E-mail Templates in place of standard salesforce mail templates

hi all,

 

how to have a custom  email template in place of the standard salesforce template when a new user is registered or the password is reset for a user?

 

Please help...

You can create visual force pages created as per customization and call them via buttons on cusom tabs based on security.

Are you referring to the emails that are sent to internal users when they are created or their password is reset, or the emails sent to portal users? If it the latter, these emails cannot be customized as they are sent out by Salesforce themselves, if it is for portal users than you can customize those templates.

i am referring to the mails sent to users after creating an account or a passwrd reset. We have to replace the mails sent by salesforce

As far as I know these templates cannot be modified. I would recommend contacting SFDC support.
