How to add fields to the Account Merge search results

Hello,

I wonder if anyone knows a way to modify (add fields to) the search results page that you get when you search for Accounts to merge [via Accounts >> Merge Accounts (in Tools section) >> Find Accounts]?

Thanks in advance

Demi

I am afraid, its not possible to modify in current version, may be in future?

Its listed as "wanted" feature on ideaexchange.you can add support to it so that salesforce would consider it.

One work around given here [ronaldp] is to add "Merge" to the beginning of each of the two accounts to merge. This greatly facilitates the search (i.e. Merge Customer Name). Then as a final step renaming the merged account back to it's original name.

Goto app setup/customize/accounts/seach layouts and change the column selections for 'search results' & 'lookup dialogs' & 'search filter fields' etc as needed.

Thanks Going South

However, all of these have the column selections I want but these selections do not seem to apply to the Account Merge search results (you can only access this search via the Account Merge link from accounts home)

Am I missing something?

Thanks
