Email Template Question

Hi,

I am creating an email template and want to pull some data from a Task that was recently created.  However, when I try to get information from the fields (i.e {!Task.Who} or any other field) it never populates in the template.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Nazeer AhamedNazeer Ahamed
In Email Templates you can use merge fields which are available, check the drop down(Available merge fields) list

The email template fills the fields based on the context of the Send An Email call.  So if you pressed that button on a Contact page, for example, then the email template has no context as to what Task you're talking about.

I'm not sure there is a way to send an email from a task, but then, I've never tried it.

Thanks for the info werewolf.  The button is located on a task and creates the email from the task item that the user wishes to send from.  I have a work-around for the issue, but being able to pull the task fields into the email template would be a great time saver.

Thanks again,
