Refresh error for package.xml in IDE?

Hello.   I'm using Eclipse 3.3.2 on Windows XP.  One of my sandbox projects currently has a "refresh error" on package.xml.  It was working fine yesterday.  This has happened before occasionally with other projects.

 

Is there a way to fix this without having delete the entire project and recreate it?

I am having a similar issue, I show 8 errors like this: 'Refresh Error:'  but no specific error and 2 errors mentioning missing reports.
