Setting default views

Hi ,

We have a requirement where one particular view should appear as the default view in "cases" after logging into the application. I find the views are arranged alphabetically  . where can the default view be set ? Or is it a limitation in salesforce.

Please suggest.

Unfortunately there isn't a default view capability in Salesforce, and the views do sort alphabetically as you indicated. The 2 options would be to put a "*" in front of the view you want at the top (or any non alpha character to force it to sort to the top). The other option is a hyperlink that can be placed on the sidebar as a link. You can call a specific view by referencing the ID of the view. Here's a sample URL that will display a specific view for the Case object.

Hope that helps.
