port number for connecting to Sforce WebService

hi..

can anybody tell the port number for Salesforce Webservice...

Its same the as it was in the .NET forum 80 & 443

Thanks for reply.. both the ports 80 & 443 are opened but still these ports are unable to connecting API.

Any other Ports that I assured are opened.

I suggest you debug it with your IT admin, cause that's all you need.

I am new and assigned a task to access the salesforce webservices API and access the information (RSS Feed) and display in our application.
Can you provide any help, links especially the sample code will be highly appreciated.
