Trying to use length function in Sforce Explorer or Force.com Explorer

Does either Sforce Explorer or Force.com Explorer support the length function?

I can't seem to get it to work?

There is no length function. (I'm assuming to refering to SOQL)

Thanks for your help!!!  How would I find postal codes that are in a custom field text(10) that are only 4 characters long as the leading 0 was supressed?

Again, Thanks for you help!!!

Probably the easiest way would be to create a new formula field that calculates the length of your field. you can then run your query using that formula field as a filter.

Again thank for your help!

One last question....As I am new to all of this, I am looking for an tool so that I can write SQL commands to my salesforce data...ie: updates, deletes, inserts...what would be your recommendation for the best free interface  tool?

Thanks again,

KC
