How can I hide the "Send notification email to contact" checkbox in Case object?

Hi,

 

We have enabled cases for Partner Portal. But during a new case creation, we want to hide the option "Send notification email to contact" checkbox that appears at the bottom of the new Case page lyout.

 

How can we do this without having to convert the page to visualforce?

When you edit a page layout, on the topmost block you can find a button 'Layout Properties'. clicking on that will give you the ability to show/hide the send email checkbox.

its an option in case page layout. you need to edit the page layout and un-check that option

It seems lighting is not respecting the page layout properties.  Any suggestions?
