Joins in Salesforce.com

I've scanned thru the 7.0 Winter'06 release, but I didn't see anything referencing "join" capability. Is this available? I'm looking to do joins between various objects like Case and Assest.

I believe you have to roll your own. Their search capability is sort of join'ish, but there aren't any sort of strict SQL-like join operators in the query langauge.
