Hiding a field on ideas page

Hi,

 

I just want to keep the filed named categories hidden on the ideas page. I am not getting an option to modify the field security settings to keep this categories field hidden. The user permissions set are view and create. Any help?

If you goto setup>Customise>Ideas>Settings there is an option to enable categories.  But I have them activated in one of my orgs and it says

"Allow community members to associate more than one category with an idea by enabling multi-select Categories field . NOTE: Once enabled, you cannot go back to Single Category field."

 

So looks like if categories has been activated you cant deactivate it.
