How do we get User Profiles from our LDAP ( Active Directory ) into SalesForce platform?

All,

 

I am looking into the best possible way to integrate our Enterprise LDAP ( Active Directory) to keep the user profiles in sync.  I am NOT looking for Single -Sign-On using Active Directory , its more of how do I get the  Enterprise User in sync. with Sales Force User profile. Things  that should be takne in to account are :

 

1)Whats the best practice for Sales Force Cloud to access the Active Directtory inside the firewall ?

 

2) Any user added /updated / deleted in Active Directory should get  synced  with SalesForce User Profile?

 

I found lots of articles on SSO with AD , but we are using another solution of the SSO.
