Can a 'standard field' type be set by subscriber org

In a managed package deployment can the subscriber org change the field type of a Standard field in a custom object.

Is there any other way for achieving the following:

 

I want to give the subscriber org the Option to make a 'Standard field' in a custom object be either 'autonumbered' or 'text field'. Can code be written to achieve this.

 

Secondly, if it is a custom field in a custom object can you give the subscriber the option to select between the two field types.

No, the field type of a packaged custom field can't be changed post install.

 

I'd suggest having both fields and adding logic to your package to choose between the two.
