APEX & VISUAL FORCE Programming for Dummies
Hello all,
I am a newbie SFDC developer and desperately trying to learn Apex and Visualforce programming.
Is there any book for those new to this field?
Any suggestions on where to get this is much appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
VK86
Hi VK86,
You've come to the right place. I recommend starting with the Force.com Workbook. Then you can review our books and the samples in the Apex Dev Guide, Visualforce Dev Guide and Force.com Cookbook.
Hope that helps,
Sati

Thank you. It is very useful to start from basics.
Just a note for those who have no programming experience - APEX is very JAVA like. Beginning Programming with Java For Dummies is a great place to start. I recommend using the Eclipse IDE (integrated development environment) - Ganymede version (free) for your coding. It is a little complicated at first - definitely use tutorials. Also, Wikipedia.org is a great place to look up terminology - there is a huge amount of nomenclature. Be prepared to clear up a lot of words and acronyms. Lots of acronyms.
