Where can I find a user's user id?

When I  say "user id," I mean literally the ID, the primary key of the user record, like 00530000000elgt?

One way is to navigate to their user record in a browser. You'll find that the user ID is the last part of the URL; so if the URL of the user record is

 

https://na3.salesforce.com/00550000001gtMA

 

then the user ID is 00550000001gtMA.
