Customize custom field label

hi, i have a need to give users authority  to change field name, they can edit field name, change it from default, how am i able to do this ? eg. I have a field Status, now user want to change it . so i want to give this authority. thanks in advance

Hi psevak,

A particular user can change field label, field name, which are schema level changes only if one has the profile of a :-

  • "System admin"
  • or a custom profile derived from "System Admin"

 i have created a user and give system admin profile, as i have. but problem is that if he want to rename custom field authority status to workflow status. he has to go from custom object --> custom field. so it is not appropriate to show these things to customer/user. thats why if there is a way to give permission to rename just perticular fields.

 

is there other way to rename field names , kindly illustrate.

 

can I override custom field to custom label. I can make new custom label. ok..but can i give that label to existed custom field. to use translation facility.
