Merging of two profiles in salesforce

Hi Experts,

 

In salesforce is there a pssibility of merging two profiles say for example i have 2 profiles Customer profile and Credit profiles.

 

When i merge the two profiles the merged profile should have the privilages of both the profiles mentioned.

 

Please advice on this soon...

I needed to do the same exact thing back in Feb 2010, and realized there was no way to easily merge the two profiles back then.  I actually created a third profile and added the attributes of each profile to the third profile.  If you know the Users who will need the abilities of the merged profile, you may want to consider Permission Sets, and give the appropriate uses the rights they need.
