Override help link for standard object?

Hi,

This must be a silly question, but I am not able to override help link for a standard object (e.g. Opportunity) with a VF page although for custom object it is pretty easy. Kindly help me

Hi,

As far as I know we can not do that. The reason is that Salesforce uses standard objects which has its own protocols which is very well defined in the Help Content. So this facility is given only when you create a custom object.

Please mark it as resolved if this answers your query.

Thanks,

If you override Salesforce Help, then you will override the standard links.

Please follow beow steps :

1. Click Your Name | Setup | Customize | Tab Names and Labels | Help Settings.
2. Enter the complete URL for your help file that you would like to replace the Salesforce online help.

Standard Help link is like a user manual/guide book for users to be able to use and navigate through the standard features and capabilities of Salesforce.com.

In case you are looking to have Help that is specific to your customizations/processes, you may want to create additional custom links that can be placed on the Layout, with VF screens popping up, containing custom help guidlines.
