report data

is it possible to get the report data using the report ID/name from an API Call ?

What is the need , if you know the purpose of the report you can design a query which returns the same result as the report.

Besides I don't  think there is an API which executes a report and returns its data, if you find please do share.

The purpose is to extract data from SF for a mailing purpose There are some apps extracting data with report Id/name.
