.html added to attachments from emails sent from Salesforce

Anyone ever seen this before?  I've got a user attaching a photoshop file and word file to an email from SFDC, but Salesforce puts a .html extension onto the file when sent from Salesforce as an email attachment.  No idea what causes this or how to prevent it.

Anyone seen this before?

Any attachments over 3 MB will be converted to an HTML link that points to the content servers for salesforce.  said servers will hold the file(s) for 30 days.

I just had a client who showed this same behavior. I thought it may be becuase he was using a Mac but I couldn't duplicate on my Mac. It occurred when sending an email from Salesforce (to a Contact) and attaching a PDF. I received the email and sure enough the attachment had .html appended.

I have a similar problem and salesforce documentation doesn't provide any clear answer?

Hi,

I have recently experienced this for the first time, but the 3 MB rule seems a bit inconsistent. I have multiple attachement which add up to 3.06 MB which cause a problem but others with a higher MB content who don't. Is that the case in your experience?

Thank you

Also, have just experienced this for the first time with an attachment of 21.8 KB! Any ideas?

Also check Chatroulette (https://collectionchat.com/), chatrandom (https://collectionchat.com/chatrandom/), ometv (https://collectionchat.com/ome-tv/) and omegle (https://collectionchat.com/omegle/) for random talk information.
