Setting "Relate to" value in Tasks from Home tab

Hello,

 

Is there a way to selecte the default "Relate to" lookup field value where a Task is created from the Home tab?

 

Currently when I click new task from the home tab, the "Relate to" value defaults to selecting an Opportunity.  I would like it to default to an Account.

Yes you can do that by creating home page component with HTML Area , hiding that component using javascript.

And using javascript to check the URL and change the field value on basis of field ID.

This requires hard coding for field Id.

Can you tell me more about how I can go about creating a html area in my home page?  Do you mean creating a visual force page that can be inserted in my home page?
