Do Not Call Field

Is there a reason that I can't get the "Do Not Call" field or the "Do Not Email" field to appear on a contact's display?

That was the problem.  I guess I didn't think about checking that since I'd hadn't encountered a field that had defaulted to hidden before.

Is there a reson that "Do Not Call", "Email Opt Out" and "Fax Opt Out" were hidden by default?

 

Specifically, I'm wondering if they were meant to be set by software instead of by users.
