Creating action on sharing button

Need to have a functionality where we can send an E-Mail to the person to whom the record is being shared.

Any ides on how to achieve this functionality?

The only way to do this would be to create a Visualforce page, with a custom controller, and linked to through a custom button. Standard functionality does not support emailing users that have been shared to a record.
