Use a Task if you need it to not close automatically. Events are things that take place regardless of a person's presence. As an example, consider a sporting event. Unless the entire event is canceled, the presence (or lack thereof) of a single ticket holder would not prevent the event from playing through to completion-- the ticket holder has simply missed the event, and won't have an opportunity to revisit it.

We have been using tasks for several years already.... I just have a sales manager who is insisting on using events instead
