Dynamic Task Due Dates

I have created monthly reminder tasks to be assigned to the Opportunity Owner for Renewal Opportunities based on the Close Date.

 

Close Date - 180 Days, Close Date - 150 Days....

 

I would like the Task Due Date to update if the Close Date gets changed.

 

Has anyone faced a similar issue and have a solution to share?

Have you tried using a workflow using a formula ISCHANGED? The use a field update with a formula to add the amount of days?

I have tried that but the problem is that the ISCHANGED would be for the "Close Date" at the Opportunity Object and the Field Update to the Due Date is on the Task Object. When I attempt to do a Field Update, the only options that I get based on the criteria for the Opportunity field of "Close Date" are for updates to the Opportunity or Account Objects. I'm not sure how to get the Task Object to appear in the list of Objects available to do a Field Update for.

Are you able to create a cross object formula? If so, do this to grab the close date, then run the workflow off of the formula field.
