Is there any reason nobody use apache soap v2 to develop sforce client

So far I read all discussion are about client using Axis and web service pack . I would like to know is there any reason about this.

Apache SOAP was a pre-cursor to AXIS; AXIS replaced Apache SOAP.  While it is still possible to use Apache SOAP, AXIS is now in production and most people are switching to that toolkit instead.

We have chosen to base our samples on this standard.
