Editing of Account default landing page.

Can any one tell me that how can i add  a Edit column on Account default landing page, like how we got under App setup->Customize->Accounts->Page layouts...!!

No you cannot actually edit that page..By the way can we know the requirement so that may be we can suggest something else ?

I mean, can we add column under Home Account Page-> Inside Recent Accounts
