Populating dependent picklist based on "Read Only" Controlling picklist

Hi,

 

I have question which may be bit weird, here is the scenario.

 

We have two picklist A and B on Opportunity that we are using URL  pass the value of it when open up a new page from related list,  on this new page we want to have this two picklist(A and B) again but should be "Read Only" .  There is another picklist  C which should be populated base on the value in picklist B. 

 

Does anyone know how to do this and whether this is possible at all??

This is very easy . Just click on Edit Layuout link on detail page and then make pick list field "B" read only. ( to make this read only you need to click on settign icon on this field in edit layout mode). 

 

Please keep in mind this is not possible to make any field read only from layout for system administrator but for othr profile it is possible.

Sorry I dont think you got what I need.

 

I not only want to make the field B as read only but the values that populate in the Picklist C should be based on the value in B.

 

Also value in the field B is passed from Opp to the new page(from related list) throught URL.

 

I hope you now understand the scenario, please let me know if you need clarification
