Salesforce Knowledge - indexing files

Hello guys,

Can anyone tell me what kind of files can be indexed when added to an article ?

I mean I added a field of type 'File'.

I upload an attachment to article. What kind of files will be indexed to allow full text search ?

I know that *.doc will work, but what else ?

Best regards,

Lukasz

Thank you very much,

This answers my question.

I am trying to search pdf files attached to an article with no success.  The link to the article that you posted indicates that it is possible.  I must not have something configured correctly.  Is there a setting that causes the indexing to occur?

Are you sure that this PDFs are not in fact images? (like scanned versions of some printed documents)

No, they are text.  I found some other posts that indicated a problem with 1.5 vs 1.4 pdf versions.  I converted a sample from 1.5 to 1.4 using ghostscript per someone else's suggestion and it worked like a charm.  My pdf is fully indexed.
