Trouble with Force.com IDE installation in Eclipse 4.2
Hi All,
I did start with this thread: http://boards.developerforce.com/t5/General-Development/Install-Eclipse-Juno-4-2-with-Force-com-IDE/m-p/462323/highlight/true#M72103
But I am still running into the same problem. Here's my setup:
Here's my setup
- Running Eclipse 4.2 as Admin (downloaded from here: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-ide-java-ee-developers/junor) and installed to desktop.
- JAVA_HOME set to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_05 (upgraded from jdk1.6.0_23) downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1637583.html
- Tried installing the Force.com IDE from the Eclipse Marketplace and got this error:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. Software being installed: Force.com IDE 25.0.0.201206181021 (com.salesforce.ide.feature.feature.group 25.0.0.201206181021) Missing requirement: Force.com IDE 25.0.0.201206181021 (com.salesforce.ide.feature.feature.group 25.0.0.201206181021) requires 'org.eclipse.update.ui 0.0.0' but it could not be found
Have I installed something incorrectly or overlooked something?
Update:
In the post I linked above: http://boards.developerforce.com/t5/General-Development/Install-Eclipse-Juno-4-2-with-Force-com-IDE/m-p/480771#M73674, there's been a solution that worked for me.

Hi! kkorynta, any progress with the Problem? Same here.
Nope.
I tried a full uninstall of the JDK 1.7 that I had and downgraded to JDK 1.6.27 as well as modified the .ini file with -clean. Niether one of these worked. I still get the same error when I try to download from the market place or from install new software.

It's the only solution that worked for me.
Thank you.
Dear Ravisfdc,
Thank you very much. Solved my problem on Helios too!
Thanks a lot for sharing, that solution worked for me as well just by adding the file org.eclipse.update.scheduler.source_3.2.300.v20100512.jar in the folder plugin.
I saved a lot of time thanks to your post. Much appreciate.
Thanks for the fix!, worked well with Juno 4.4.

- Eclipse 3.6 (Helios) - Salesforce recommended for compatibility
- Eclipse 3.7 (Indigo)
- Eclipse 4.2 (Juno)
Since Kepler is the latest, I would recommend starting a new thread if you're having trouble getting the plug in to work with it.
Hi,
As all the other guys, this error was solved by downloading the org.eclipse.update.ui_3.2.300.v20100512.jar within the eclipse / plugins folder.
Thank you
