S2S connection- Is my lead record shared or is it recreated in the subscribing org?

Hi

I had a very basic question on S2S. Technically in an S2S connection is the lead record(say) shared or is it recreated in the subscribing org? In other words, does the subscribing org get a reference to the lead or a new copy of the lead  record from the publishing org?

subscribing org will get a copy of Opportunity from  the publishing org. I haven't tried for Leads. I am sure it should be the same for Leads also.

Effectively it's recreated, but synched.  It's recreated so that differences can be mapped as partners may have different lead status than your org.  The sync makes sure the original is updated when important changes are made by the partner.
