I tried 2-3 times but each time I faced this issue only.

Please suggest what can I do to avoid this situation or any workaround if exists.

Thanks.

Try installing the Force.com plugin in a pre downloaded eclipse.

You can find the steps here http://wiki.developerforce.com/page/Force.com_IDE_Installation_for_Eclipse_3.5

Hi Avi,

I was facing other issues there, thats why I switched to Force.com IDE installation, apart from adding pluggin to eclipse.

Please suggest a workaround.

Thanks.

I just installed plugin on Eclipse and works really good. Make sure you use eclipse 3.6 or any other supported versions

Hi Avi,

I was using Eclipse version 3.6 only  but when I am trying to install force.com IDE pluggin following document- http://wiki.developerforce.com/page/Force.com_IDE_Installation_for_Eclipse_3.6

after step# 4 processing continues for about 25 minutes and then it ends up with error message- "An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=SDKProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
Problems downloading artifact: osgi.bundle,com.salesforce.ide.api,24.0.0.201202291629.
MD5 hash is not as expected." , I searched in community and found this issue was faced by other users as well and suggest a workaround to download pluggin and feature and put it in Eclipse specific folder(http://boards.developerforce.com/t5/General-Development/Problem-with-setup-Force-com-IDE-in-eclipse-3-6/td-p/413173), but using this also I faced the same issue.

please suggest.

I also downloaded Force.com IDE and installed it but eclipse is not giving option to create new Force.com project, it is only giving option for java projects.
