quota

Is there any tutorial where I can learn all about quotas? I'm not sure about its functionality or relationship with the Opportunities.

There are some good docs in Help & Training - just search for quota.  If you have access to the online training courses, you can take the course called "Forecasting for Sales Reps and Managers".  I think it's about 40 minutes.
