$Recordtype....

This doens't seem to be avaialble in the validation rule fields for inserting into the rule.  We use this a great deal and with the Spring '13 release it is no longer an option.  Is this intentional?  What should be used for this in validation rules?

The validation still exists in Winter 13. Please do the following

1) Create new validation rule record for your Object, Name your rule

2) Click Insert Field Button and in the selection list select $RecordType> and select Name and the second list.

3) your rule might looks something like this  $RecordType.Name  = 'Requester'

You know waht to do next :)

Good luck.

Click Insert Field Button and in the selection list select $RecordType> and select Name and the second list. We do not show $RecordType in the selection list. Why?
