Duodou Deploy Custom Button and Links to Contact Layout
Could someone please help?
In my custom app, I added a custom button, and then added it to the default layout of Contact.
After I packaged and installed the app into a new organization. I can see the button installed and deployed from set up, but, when I open Contact layout, I don't see the custom button.
DO I have to add it into the Contact layout mannually after the package deployed? If so, If I install this app to 10 apps, I have to add the button 10 time?? Thanks in advance.
Yes, for custom buttons, you have to add them again on the page layout manually after deploying.
If you are doing this for new installation then you can try the following:
1. Create new PageLayout on the Contact Object
2. Configure the new PageLayout as per you requirements
3. Assign the layout to the profiles you have included in the package
Recreate and install the package to any new organization, while installing the package make sure you map the profiles in security settings step of package installation wizard.
