Inline Editing for Contact object

All,

I have the Inline Editing enabled in my org and it works fine for my Opportunity object.

But I cannot beneft from this feature on some of the other standard objects such as Contacts, Accounts, and Cases.

I beleive this feature is available for all objects but for some reason I cannot seem to have it.

Please help.

Thanks,

Salesforce support team informed me that: if you're using record types, your list view must be filtered by a particular record type for your to use the inline editing.

You need to filter your list view by a specific record type, then you'll be able to benefit from the inline editing.

Thanks,

Do you have a visualforce override for the edit page for any of these objects?  That stops inline editing.

No, Bob.

They all use standard page layouts.

Folks,

Has anyone experienced this before?

If not, I need to know so I can create a case with Salesforce Support.

Please advise if you've seen such behaviour before.

Thanks,
