Data loader field mapping

Is it possible to concatenate two or more columns into a single field in the field mapping file when using data loader with batch mode?

And if so, what is the syntax?

Hi,

 

I am not sure about that. Mostly not possible.

 

Workaround could be, create a formula field concatenating these fields and map the foruma field.

Unfortunately, I need to use the field as an external id for upserting and formula fields do not allow this.

Hi,

 

Try this.

 

Merge the two cells in csv(excel), i.e Insert a new column, write a formula in that cell as A1+ B1 like that. Give the heading of say NewMergedField to that column.

 

Now you can map that column using data loader.
