address data type for custom field

Hi, couple of questions:

 

  1. is there still no way to make an address data type for a custom field?  
  2. why?
  3. is there a work around so i don't have to create separate fields?

Just wondering if anyone knows

1. you can use "Text Area"  (or) "Text Area Long" for your purpose

2. You can use FORMULA where you CONCANTENATE Address1,Address2,etc
