Is there a way when a parent and child can have a same value for a unique Text field.

Hello Gurus,

 

Is there a way in salesforce where in we can have a parent and child account same for a unique text field.

No, since both records are of same type(Account).

 

If the custom field is unique then you cannot have 2 records with same value in that field.

not in same field because both object are of same type so you can store value on two fields.
